Over at lovely Wei Siew’s blog or on Ravelry you might have read about the Shepherd Hoodie KAL that’s about to start.
It’s been nine or ten days since this was suggested and that’s been akin to torture while I wait to cast on.
Wei Siew had already started her hoodie when we decided to do a KAL so she very kindly agreed to stop (how did she manage that?) until the start date which is tomorrow.
I needed yarn and hunted high and low for something.
In my head I wanted a New Zealand yarn in a shade something along the lines of this lovely thing.
There was nothing in the local yarn shops that was even vaguely right and I was starting to worry that I wouldn’t find anything but then I remembered that I had some Skeinz Naked Aran in the back of my yarn cupboard.
A spare few hours, a pot of dye and pretty soon I had my yarn for that beautiful hoodie.
It’s a perfect
moth donkey brown. Brown with undertones of grey, not too light and not too dark and it will be perfect for the hoodie.
Wei Siew has allowed approximately six weeks for the KAL. It sounds like a long time but this is a large piece of knitting so I will have to be consistent and dedicated if I’m to complete it within the time frame.
Needless to say I am really looking forward to it. Let the knitting begin!
